The Dog Mentor offers private, one-on-one training sessions in the greater San Jose, CA Bay Area, in your home or at Wilcox Park in Willow Glen, CA, including the following:
NEW! Accelerated Training Program
The Dog Mentor is pleased to announce our new
Accelerated Training Program. This is an intensive one or two week program where I train your dog personally, one-on-one, for an hour each day. (You drop your dog off with me at the park, or I come to your home.) I send daily email updates about what we worked on, and how to reinforce the training at home.
During this program, I work with the dog alone for four lessons, and the fifth lesson is spent with you and your dog, teaching you how to maintain what the dog has learned.
The Accelerated Training Program is similar to popular doggie “boot camps," except you don’t have to send your dog away for 2 weeks! Your dog learns commands thoroughly during 1-1 sessions with me, then I teach you how to reinforce those commands at home.
Packages:
1 week/five lessons: to address one or two specific behaviors (loose leash walking or jumping up).
2 weeks/ten lessons: comprehensive dog manners, including Sit, Down, Stay, Leave It, proper greeting behavior (no jumping), Loose Leash Walking (Heel), and Recall (come when called). If your dog knows some commands already, we would focus on learning more advanced versions with longer duration, distractions, etc.
Additional Services
Want to be more involved in your
dog's training? Great! The Dog Mentor offers customized lesson packages
tailored to fit the needs of you and your dog. Lessons are typically
once a week, and include a follow-up email with notes about our session
and how to practice what you've learned at home. I will also address any specific issues or requests you may have regarding your dog. Typical training sessions include:
Structured Exercise: The Dog Mentor provides structured exercise sessions that combine exercise with training, including walks, games of fetch, etc. Exercising your dog's mind as well as his body results in a fulfilled and happy dog!
Training: Whether you want to start with the basics like Sit, Down and Stay, or you want to make sure your dog Comes when you call and walks nicely on a loose leash, The Dog Mentor can help! We'll develop a training plan that addresses your specific goals and sets you and your dog up to succeed.
Behavior Coaching: House training, inappropriate chewing, nuisance barking and jumping up on guests are just a few of the issues many dog owners need help with. The Dog Mentor gives you the tools you need to teach your dog to be a polite and social member of your family.
